Can It Be True?

I registered Kaden for Kindergarten last week, he starts in August. I can not believe that my child is old enough to go to school 5 days a week. I'm very happy that this day is here, but I'm amazed that it came so fast. I'm so excited for him to begin this new chapter is his life, and our life as well. He's such a sweet boy and I know he'll be great.

These Are My Boys, and I Love Them

So nothing really exciting has happened to us this past week, it's been the same, me get up and go to work, come home so Dan can go to work and school, and I take care of the boys at home while Dan is gone all day. But I like the life we're living right now, because for the most part I get to be a stay at home Mom, which is all I've ever wanted, I mean I'm home from work most of the time before they all wake up. My boys keep me more busy than I ever thought possible, but at the same time I love every minute of it.

Of course on Sunday we watched the super bowl. We were talking how it's almost better than Christmas because you have all the yummy food, the family, but not the stress of getting ready for Christmas. We had a lot of fun and ate way to much.
Here is Lincoln enjoying the super bowl.
Every week I watch my nephew Mayson and both Kaden and Lincoln love it when he comes over. Here they are enjoying a nice bath with lots of bubbles which is the boys favorite thing in the world to do, sit in a bath with bubbles.
Here's Lincoln showing how much fun he really is having in the bath.
Here's Mayson and Lincoln enjoying a movie or something. They were so sweet and calm, I had to capture the moment.
Then Kaden wanted in on the picture, so calm moment #2, let it be documented because it doesn't ever happen.

Dan is doing awesome in school, he just got made an account executive in one of his classes, which any of you who are in the PR world know that that is pretty cool and a great resume builder. He finally knows the path he wants to be on so because of that he is loving school. He is an amazing person and I am so proud of him, and he is also counting down the days until Boston, he tells me every day that he is so excited to go, and I am really excited for him.

They Think They're so Funny

So funny story. It was 10 minutes until noon, I was watching my nephew Mayson, and Kaden was all ready for school, the bus usually picks him up around noon. The dogs really needed to go outside to take care of their business, so Kaden and I took them out. Well we waited out there with them and about 5 minutes later they were ready to go inside. So Kaden runs inside and Boston follows him, Diego was following me up the stairs and I was an arms length away from the door and Lincoln comes out of no where and slams the door shut and locks it. I thought he would open it immediately for me, but no, he didn't. This is what they were doing.
They kept looking over at me and smiling, and laughing, and thinking that it was the funniest thing in the whole world that they were sitting in the window watching Diego and me outside freezing trying to get into the house. I kept ringing the door bell and knocking on the door and yelling for Kaden thinking that Kaden would at lease hear and come and open the door for us. No, he wasn't coming. I was trying to be really stern and tell them come on, open the door. It took everything I had not to laugh at them because even though I was freezing I was thinking that it was pretty funny. Notice in the picture that Mayson found a crayon and started drawing on the window. I thought Kaden's bus was going to come and try to get him and I was going to be locked out and the bus was going to have to leave without Kaden because I couldn't get in. Well, after about 5 minutes of ringing the door bell, knocking on the door, and yelling for them to open it, Mayson finally came and opened it for me. I get in there and found Kaden in the back room minding his own business just playing. A few minutes later the bus came and Kaden was on his way. I was very happy to finally get in and I will never take the dogs out again without taking some house keys with me.

Is it possible.....

....to own anything nice when you have little kids? So I love my boys more than anything but honestly, it is impossible to own anything nice, they break everything. So the top picture is of my cute little man, but I'm also showing you the TV stand that we had that is in the background. It's just a glass TV stand that is wide open. So yes, my husband works at Best Buy, we own a PlayStation 3 and an X box 360. When we purchased these we also bought the warranty's, which was totally worth it. Anyway, we have ended up replacing 4 PlayStation and 4 X box 360's due to the fact they are set at reach for the little ones, you would think we would move them, but honestly where has always been the question. They don't understand what being careful is. They've put multiple discs in there before, they've put them in upside down, they've even broken discs in there before. It amazes me, I didn't think I was this destructive when I was a kid. Maybe I was. So when we finally replaced our 4th PlayStation and our 4th X box 360 which was at the same time, we decided to make the investment of an in closed cabinet to lock them up in. Well we had just gotten the cabinet so I have not had the chance to buy things to lock them. So the other day I was in my bedroom and Kaden was out watching a movie. About 20 minutes later Kaden comes into me carrying the door to the TV cabinet saying "uh oh mom, I need some glue." I couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Some how he was able to rip the door off of the cabinet. I thought it was cute that he wanted to fix it, but at the same time my jaw dropped, and my only thought was, " We haven't even had this for a week." Well I ended up gluing like crazy and was able to fix it, it doesn't look as nice as before, but that's OK, it still works for the purposed that we purchased it, and the next day I bought locks for the cabinet and I can only hope that the locks will help. I'll let you all know if it does.

Well on a happy note I need to mention how amazing my husband is. He is in the PR program in school and is doing very well. Every year there is an opportunity for a few of the top PR students to apply to go on a trip to meet with some of the top PR firms in the country. This year the event is taking place in Boston. Well, this is something that you have to apply for, write an essay and sit down with a board and have an interview. Well they announce the trip and Dan immediately comes home and starts the application process. About an hour after he turns everything in they call him back for an interview. Well, 28 students applied for it and they can only take 8, 4 boys and 4 girls. Dan goes in for the interview and he nails it. They picked Dan to go to Boston for a week to meet with some of the top PR firms in the country. I'm so proud and excited for him. He is an amazing man and he works so hard, he deserves this. He gets to go in March so we'll let you know all about it when he gets back.

Thanks everyone for reading, we don't have the most exciting life, but it's is our life and we wouldn't change anything about it.

Family Vaca = Lots of Fun

So it had been awhile since Dan and I took the boys on a family vacation, so after Kaden got his appendicitis we decided that it is time stop dinking around and plan a family vacation. So we decided to go to our favorite place and that would be San Diego. We stayed with our really good friends in Temecula and had a lot of fun with them.
We started our trip in Disneyland, which was awesome. Kaden can't stop talking about it and we can't wait to take them back someday.
So one of the first rides we went on was Splash Mountain. I'm really sad we didn't buy the picture, I wasn't feeling like spending $15.00 on it so this is a picture of the picture. I think that Kaden's face is priceless in it.
Another one of the highlights was all the characters that the boys got to meet. Kaden was so excited to meet pooh, he was a little star struck at first. As you can see Lincoln is loving Pooh.
Here's Lincoln having fun in Toon Town...
...and Kaden thinking he's strong enough to lift that, it was so cute watching him try.
We got to meet Dan's favorite character Goofy.
Kaden was so excited to meet Mickey Mouse, but the character he really wanted to meet was Donald Duck, so right after he saw Mickey he asks him "Mickey, where is Donald Duck." Poor Kaden didn't get an answer and we had to leave Disneyland without meeting Donald Duck.
Here's Kaden in his Mickey ears.
The next day was actually a special day, it was my little man Lincolns 2nd Birthday. We were so fortunate to spend the day with Aunt Kelley and Uncle Josh where they showed us a great time in San Diego. We did a lot of fun things that day, but the highlight would be Birch Aquarium.
Kaden and Lincoln had so much fun and were so intrigued with everything. Lincoln is actually trying to give the fish a kiss, it's really cute.
Outside they had an area where people can go and touch any of the sea life they wanted, it was mostly starfish, sea cucumber, and a lot of plant life. But here's Lincoln without a thought touching a starfish. It was really cute, but I was kind of grossed out because I knew there was no way I was going to be touching any of that. I'm a big wuss.
This is outside the aquarium.
Later that night we headed over to Kelley and Josh's where we enjoyed cake and ice cream for Lincoln's birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed it as you can tell.
Here's Linc is his Mickey Hat.

I can't believe my baby is two, it's amazing how time flies. But we had a blast in San Diego and we always look forward to when we get to go back.

Red Neck Baby

My poor little guy was walking down the patio stairs at my parents house and fell and landed face down on the concrete. We picked him up and there was blood everywhere. Kind of scary, but it stopped like 2 min later, and then we noticed that his tooth was missing. My Linc man lost his first tooth. Not really a good thing considering he's only 2 and he probably won't get his adult tooth until he's like 5 or 6. The dentist said that there's nothing to worry about and that he'll be fine, just toothless. We're not worrying at all, just getting a good laugh out of our cute, toothless, little man. I love this kid.

There is No Place Like Home

So good news, we are home!!! We actually have been home for a few days now and it has been wonderful. We all are just happier being at home together as a family. Even the dogs seem happier.
So the past few days have been going really well. Kaden doesn't seem to be in much pain. He still has some, but he's handling it well by keeping his mind off of it. He's been playing a lot of video games, but only while he gets better :) He's been sleeping awesome, I guess he really does love being in his own bed. It is amazing to me to see the difference in Kaden between sitting in a hospital room all day, and being at home, he loves it here. We had one little scare when we got home. When we were in the hospital he had a big bandage over his incision that was really sticky and hard to take off. So the day we left we took it off with some stuff and all was well. Well he had steristrips over his incision holding it together, they told us to leave them on and they should come off in about 5 days. Well we get home, we put Kaden in front of a movie, and about 15 min later he comes into Dan and says "Dad, will you help me" and then he hands Dan one of the steristrips. He had ripped all of the steristrips off of his incision. We couldn't believe that he did that. So it was a trip to Walgreen's for some more steristrip bandages and some good tape and gauze pads to go over it. He hasn't touched them since, and the incision looks like it's doing good.
One thing that I have noticed since we've been home is that when Kaden is tired, he's not fighting it as bad as he use to, which occasionally leads him to falling asleep in funny and uncomfortable places. It was really funny, I took this picture of Kaden on my phone and I sent it to my mom saying "Kaden is falling asleep in random places". She text me back and asked "is that OK." I quickly responded "I put him in his bed right after I took the picture." She quickly called me saying "I don't want you to think that I think you're a bad mother for leaving him there, that's not what I meant." We both laughed and she was only wondering if maybe him falling asleep in random places a lot if that means he has narcolepsy. But not to worry, he's only fallen asleep a couple times in random places and there is no worries of narcolepsy.
Now this little guy has been amazing. I can't imagine how he felt being passed around everywhere, and Mom and Dad always leaving him and never really knowing why. He was getting very clingy to us at the end when he would see us. But this kid is amazing. He is as happy as ever and the biggest character. Him and Kaden are pretty much back to being brothers, and I love it.

What an amazing and emotional experience. It has been very humbling in every way. I will never take a healthy child for granted again. I mean seeing Kaden sick was really hard, but seeing other kids that were worse off then Kaden was even more humbling. I am so grateful for my happy healthy boys, and Kaden's full recovery. Thanks you so much again everyone for your thoughts and prayers, we felt every single one of them. Now it's back to normal life, wish me luck.
